Welcome to the Resources page on Vigil Prudence, a curated list of the tools, gear, equipment, books, and websites I strongly recommend for being as prepared and self-reliant in as many areas of your daily life as possible. This list is something that I continually update.  I have tested, read and/or use every resource on this page.  Some of the resources may not necessarily be related to being prepared but rather are items that help me run this site and provide information to you that many of you have asked me about.

Before digging into the awesome gear I use and other resources I know and trust, an important disclosure:

Some of the links below are or other affiliate links, which means that if you choose to make a purchase, I will earn a commission. This commission comes at no additional cost to you. Please understand that I have experience with all of this gear, have read the books, or use the services of, and I recommend them because they are helpful and useful, not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to buy something. Please do not spend any money on these products unless you feel you need them or that they will help you achieve your goals in being prepared and/or self-reliant.

Water Purification

Big Berkey is a gravity fed water purifier, I do not drink municipal water, first I don’t like the taste. Second you just never know where there may be a boil water alert, by the time the notice is announced, who knows how much water you may have already drank.

Go Berkey is Big Berkey’s little brother but very portable. I take this with me everywhere I go, check out my post on having an Unlimited Urban Clean Water supply.

Sport Berkey this is what I have in the car at all times, also carry this one into sporting events.
